I have picked out a number of lovely hotels along my route. Details of them are here and I’ll let you know what I think of them once I’ve stayed there!

Night One – Drymen – The Buchanan Arms Hotel
Distance since the Start – 19 miles

This looks a nice hotel just away from the centre of Drymen. I’m sure I’ll need it after my first day!

Night Two

Night Two – Inversnaid – The Inversnaid Hotel
Distance since the Start – 42 miles

I really wanted to stop here as I got engaged to my amazing wife on the jetty right outside this hotel. Can’t wait to be back!

Night Three

Night Three – Bridge of Orchy- The Bridge of Orchy Hotel
Distance since the Start – 67 miles

This hotel is located just alongside the A82 where is crosses the West Highland Way. I’m sure I’ll get a great nights rest here after the longest day of the whole walk!

Night Four

Night Four – Kinlochleven – MacDonald Hotel
Distance since the Start – 88 miles

My first stay back in a village since Drymen on the first night and I’ve picked this quiet hotel just on the outskirts of Kinlochleven, I hear it has fantastic views of the loch – can’t wait to see them for myself!

Nights Five & Six

Nights Five and Six – Fort William – Premier Inn
Distance since the Start – 103 miles

The end of the West Highland Way – and a days rest in Fort William. I’ve booked the Premier Inn as it’s nearby the town centre and it’s location marks the start of the Great Glen Way!

Night Seven

Night Seven – Gairlochy – Nadurra But and Ben
Distance since the Start – 114 miles

I found this amazing accommodation Pod when searching for somewhere to stay in Glenlochy. It’s a 2 person pod with it’s own Hot Tub and views out towards Ben Nevis. It looks amazing and I’m really excited to stay here! There is very limited accommodation in this area so I was extremely lucky it was available – make sure you book early if you want to stop here!

Night Eight

Night Eight – Fort Augustus- The Lovat Hotel
Distance since the Start – 139 miles

I’ve never been to Fort Augustus before but it looks a lovely little community focused around the Canal side. And I can’t wait to stay here – right in the middle of the action!

Night Nine

Night Nine- Fort Augustus- The Loch Ness Inn
Distance since the Start – 162 miles

It’s the last night before I reach Inverness (hopefully!) and I’ve picked the Loch Ness Inn, the first hotel as I reach Drumnadrochit.

Night Ten

Night Ten – Inverness – Premier Inn
Distance since the Start – 182 miles

If I make it this far I’ve completed my journey. And I’ve chosen again to stay in the Premier Inn. Just across the bridge over the River Ness from the City Centre (so hopefully nice and quiet) and overlooking the River and Inverness Castle I’m sure I’ll need a good rest when I get here!
